Our Story
An independent firm, built around relationships
Jamieson Grey was founded on a belief that exceptional advisory begins with relationships: taking the time to listen, understand, and earn trust over time.
We created an independent firm with the freedom to preserve what experience has proven valuable while thoughtfully embracing new ideas, technologies, and approaches that strengthen the experience for clients and the advisors who support them.
That means looking beyond individual policies to understand the broader risk picture. Asking the right questions before offering advice. Staying alert to potential gaps as needs, assets, and responsibilities evolve. And working collaboratively with the trusted professionals already supporting the individuals and families we serve.
Our independence gives us room to challenge assumptions, approach problems creatively, and continually refine how we serve. That foundation provides the judgment and perspective to do so with intention.
Leadership Team
As co-founders of Jamieson Grey, Courtney Jamieson Martin and Rod Martin establish the firm’s strategic vision and define its approach to private client advisory, relationships, and long-term growth. Building Jamieson Grey is more than creating a successful insurance brokerage, it is founded on sound judgement, a strong culture, and lasting values for its clients, partners, and generations to come.

Courtney Jamieson Martin
CEO and Co-Founder
Courtney’s background reflects deep and varied experience across the private client insurance landscape. She began her career at AIG as a top-rated underwriter focused on high-net-worth and complex personal risk, earning early fluency in how carriers evaluate and price risk. That foundation continues to inform her judgment today. After graduating from NYU Stern School of Business with an MBA, she took on a senior client management role at American Express National Client Group, where she deepened her experience serving sophisticated clients at scale. She later brought that perspective to PURE Insurance, where her focus shifted to business development and the strategic growth of client relationships.
That progression has given Courtney a rare vantage point across the full private client landscape, an appreciation for both the carrier and client sides of the relationship. At Jamieson Grey, she is applying that foundation with a clear purpose: to build an independent firm where every client relationship is defined by personal attention and sound judgment.

Rod Martin
Chairman and Co-Founder
Rod has more than 40 plus years experience across insurance, retirement, and financial services industries. As the former Chairman and CEO of Voya Financial, Rod led the former ING Group U.S. division through its initial public offering and created a market-leading brand. Over the ten year period under Rod’s leadership, Voya delivered 375% in total return to shareholders, significantly outperforming the S&P 500. Equally important to Rod, the company was recognized by Ethisphere as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies over the 10-year period, every year it was eligible.
Prior to founding Voya, Rod served as Chairman of AIG’s Worldwide Life Insurance Companies and as Chairman and CEO of American General Life Companies, along with a series of senior executive roles across related insurance organizations. Overall, Rod contributes experience building enduring organizations and growing them through major transitions with steady leadership. He brings institutional discipline, deep market relationships, ethical leadership and a long-range perspective to Jamieson Grey's strategy and growth.
